Work for Peace

Ivan, Vicki, and myself (Griffin) got together yesterday to do some editing. We edited everything we shot on Friday and Saturday into a coherent story and the end result was about a minute long. I think it looks good. It's definitely not a finished product yet, but it's something to show to the company and get some feedback. It's fantastic for the film club's first work. I want to thank everyone who helped out, because without all of you, it wouldn't be possible. We're gonna do some more editing on wednesday before the meeting, and we'll show what we have to everyone at the meeting. I hope everyone can make it to the meeting wednesday, because there will be a lot of important stuff to talk about.

Aside from the foods-4-thought project, Ivan found a youtube contest sponsored by the Peace Support Network. For more information, go to http://celebratingpeace.org/videos.cfm. There you can find the instructions. The theme that the videos must portray is "Create Peace." Film Club has to act fast, because the deadline to submit is February 15, 2009. We already have a few ideas, but none that can be accomplished with so little time and resources. We will talk a lot about this on Wednesday, so it will be good to see everyone. The more ideas we can get, the better. Also, if it's at all possible, we should make more than one submission.

We also have other projects that we want to start. Jon has his "Ketchup and Mustard" idea, I have "The Floor is Lava: Reality Show" idea, and Sean has a couple of scripts that we could adapt to film. So basically, we need to start filming soon.

Also, a few of us are volunteering for the SLO International Film Festival. The festival is around the second week of March. Otherwise known as dead week for Poly students. It should be a fun way to relax after a lot of studying. I'm really looking forward to that.

Well, I might be coming down with some sort of sickness, so I'm going to rest for the rest of the night. I've got a busy weekend coming up.
